Armenia and Iran Negotiating Simplified Customs Corridor Agreement, Says Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee

Negotiations are ongoing between Armenia and Iran regarding the signing of a simplified customs corridor agreement. This was announced by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Edward Hakobyan.

“Negotiations are underway for the signing of a simplified customs corridor agreement between Armenia and Iran, and these discussions will conclude soon,” said Hakobyan.

The Chairman of the State Revenue Committee also provided details on cooperation with Georgia. “We are discussing a joint checkpoint with Georgia, and a working group has been formed to provide joint services in the Gogavan-Guguti section,” Hakobyan noted.

According to the Chairman, cooperation with the United States has also been rapidly revitalized in areas such as capacity development, procurement of customs system equipment, and the introduction of various smart monitoring systems.
