Group of Individuals Materially Induced Others to Participate in Gathering; One Person Arrested
The Armenian Investigative Committee's Yerevan Investigation Department has acquired apparent factual data during the preliminary investigation of a initiated criminal case, indicating that on October 18, 2025, a group of individuals materially induced others to participate in a gathering supporting S.K. This was reported by the Committee.
“During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, public criminal prosecution was initiated against G.S. under Part 2 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code (obstructing or coercing to hold or participate in a gathering, as well as materially inducing someone to participate in or refuse to participate in a gathering), and against B.S. and H.M. under Part 2 of Article 236 (assisting in the obstruction or coercion of holding or participating in a gathering, as well as materially inducing someone to participate in or refuse to participate in a gathering). A measure of restraint in the form of arrest has been applied to H.M.
The investigation continues.
The Investigative Committee warns that criminal liability is provided for obstructing or coercing to hold or participate in a gathering, as well as for materially inducing someone to participate in or refuse to participate in a gathering, as envisaged under Part 2 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code, which is punishable by imprisonment for a maximum term of three years. Considering that many incidents have recently been recorded involving material inducement to participate in gatherings, the Investigative Committee urges to exhibit lawful behavior and refrain from similar criminal manifestations,” the statement said.
