Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Announces Lifting Restrictions on Cargo Transportation to Armenia

Azerbaijan has contributed to the restoration of cooperation and trust in the region by lifting restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia. This was announced by Prime Minister Ali Asadov during his speech at the 5th "Silk Road" forum in Tbilisi.

The agreements reached on the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia hold historical significance for ensuring stable cooperation in the region.

“The opening of communications in the region, including the unification of main Azerbaijan's territory with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which constitutes an inseparable part of the country, will serve to expand the transit capabilities of international cargo transportation in the region. We are confident that the new route to be opened in the region in accordance with agreements reached on August 8 of this year in Washington will be one of the crucial parts of the Middle Corridor and will enhance its role in the global transport network,” he said.

Moreover, Azerbaijan continues to demonstrate its commitment to restoring cooperation and trust in the region. The Azerbaijani side has made significant contributions in this direction by eliminating all restrictions on cargo transportation to Armenia that remained from the time of occupation. The transportation of Kazakh grain to Armenia through Azerbaijan is the first practical step taken in this regard. As President Ilham Aliyev has stated, this shows that peace is now being implemented not only on paper but also in real life,” he added.
