Pakistan to Recall Its Ambassador from Iran
Pakistan has informed Iran that it has decided to recall its ambassador from Tehran. The information was reported by TASS. Pakistan has deemed the strikes from Tehran on its territory last night as illegal, emphasizing that it reserves the right to respond.
Earlier, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the strike carried out by Iranian armed forces on Pakistani territory constitutes a violation of the country's airspace, which could lead to serious consequences. "Pakistan strongly condemns Iran's unjustified violation of its airspace and the strike on Pakistani territory, resulting in the death of two innocent children and injuries to three girls. This violation of Pakistan's sovereignty is completely unacceptable and could have serious consequences. It is even more alarming that this occurred despite the existence of multiple channels of communication between Pakistan and Iran," the statement said.
The ministry announced that the Pakistani side has already lodged a "decisive protest" with a senior official of the Iranian Foreign Ministry in Tehran. In addition, the charge d'affaires of Iran has been summoned to the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the incident.
“Terrorism is a common threat to all countries in the region and requires coordinated actions. Such unilateral actions are inconsistent with friendly relations and can seriously undermine mutual trust,” added Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Iranian news agency Tasnim previously reported that Iranian armed forces targeted two headquarters of the terrorist group “Jaish al-Zolm” located in Pakistan. According to the agency, drones and missiles were used during the operation.
On the night of January 10, terrorists from “Jaish al-Zolm” attacked a checkpoint between the cities of Rask and Jangal in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province, resulting in the death of a police officer. The group has previously claimed responsibility for terrorist acts that took place on the Iran-Pakistan border, as well as attacks on personnel of Iran's border service.
