Trump: I Never Said Ukraine Will Win, I Said They Can Win

US President Donald Trump has reiterated his optimism regarding the resolution of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, as reported by Reuters.

“In my opinion, we will achieve that. But everything has gone very bad, as the two leaders genuinely hate each other... They hate each other more than anything, and that complicates the situation a bit,” the president noted.

When he was asked whether he believes Ukraine is still capable of winning the war, as he mentioned after the UN General Assembly, Trump responded: “They can still win. I don't think they will win, but they can still win. I never said they would win. I said they can win. Anything can happen. You know, war is a very strange thing.”
