The Crisis of Democracy Looks Like This: Vardevanyan on Ghukasyan's Arrest

A few weeks ago, a political promise was made from the podium of the National Assembly that prosecution would take place against the elected mayor of the community based on the legally established election results in Gyumri. Lawyer Aram Vardevanyan wrote this on his Facebook page.

“If anyone knows of another European country where there is a similar fusion of political processes and criminal-legal powers, please let me know. This is what the crisis of democracy looks like,” the lawyer stated.

It is worth mentioning that Vardan Ghukasyan, the mayor of Gyumri, has been arrested. Lawyer Arsen Babayan has reported that Vardan Ghukasyan's freedom is restricted.
