Ukraine is Not Losing the War, and Russia is Not Winning: Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with NBC News that Russia is not winning the ongoing military operations in Ukraine. “We are not losing this war, and Russian President Vladimir Putin is not winning,” the Ukrainian leader said.
According to Zelensky, the Russian army is currently in a weak position, controlling only “about 1%” of Ukrainian territory, despite having suffered 1.3 million military losses. “That is a high price for this land,” the president added.
Previously, Zelensky had stated on his Telegram channel that negotiations with Russia should only take place from a position of strength. He believes that the prolongation of the conflict is not caused by Kyiv, but rather by Moscow's actions, which, he claims, refuses to cease hostilities.
Zelensky emphasized that he is not ready to make the concessions that he claims the White House expects from him, and reiterated his call for Western countries to take “decisive actions” to protect Ukraine.
