Preparations Underway for Meeting Between Zelensky and Lukashenko
The security services of Belarus are working to facilitate possible communications between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to Ivan Tertel, the head of the Belarusian State Security Committee.
“We maintain the position that a meeting is necessary to find an agreement. However, much depends on the Ukrainian side as well,” Tertel emphasized in an interview with the Belarus 1 television channel.
Previously, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly expressed his desire to have a personal meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky “just to talk.” However, according to the State Security Committee, Minsk's initiatives have yet to receive a reciprocal response, while later Zelensky publicly criticized Lukashenko and accused him of being out of touch with reality.
