Composition of US Delegation Changes Ahead of Meeting with Russia

The United States plans to hold additional preliminary meetings with the Russian delegation ahead of the summit scheduled between President Trump and President Putin in Budapest, reports The Wall Street Journal, citing sources from the White House.

According to the publication, the US delegation will likely be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, replacing special envoy Steve Vitkof.

"Behind the scenes, President Trump’s team is working to enhance negotiations with stronger diplomatic leverage than what was used in the August summit," writes WSJ.
