Biden Reveals Putin's Concerns
Russian President Vladimir Putin is worried that the Americans will transfer new nuclear weapons to Ukraine and launch an attack on Russia. This was stated by U.S. President Joe Biden in an interview with MSNBC, referencing his discussions with the Russian leader.
“Tactical nuclear weapons in Europe have scared everyone, even the Russians, even the Russians,” he said.
Biden emphasized that “Putin is afraid of the transfer of nuclear weapons to Ukraine, because then missiles would fly toward Moscow tomorrow.”
“In one of our conversations, Putin told me that he wants to ensure that Ukraine does not have nuclear weapons, that Ukraine does not become a NATO member, and that NATO does not expand further,” Biden noted, as reported by the media.
Biden assured him that this will not happen, as Ukraine is not part of NATO, and integration cannot occur without fundamental systemic changes.
