Mirzoyan on Opening of Armenia-Turkey Border
We have very good dialogue with Turkey at various levels – at the level of leaders, foreign ministers, special representatives, and technical groups. This was stated by Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in an interview with DW.
"Thus, this dialogue has taken place without any preconditions from the beginning and continues now. I personally do not see any problem in opening the Armenia-Turkey border, nor do I see any obstacle to establishing diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey," he said.
Mirzoyan noted that the Turkish side is ready to open the borders, restore railway connections, and resume direct bilateral trade. "Therefore, I believe that in the coming weeks and months we will achieve quite significant progress in this direction. I think this issue could be resolved within a few months at most. This is my subjective assessment. Let’s see how events unfold," said Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
