Satellite Images of S-400 Complexes Deployed in Turkey Surfaces Online

Three launch stations of the Russian S-400 missile defense systems are reportedly located at the Turkish "Murted" airbase, not far from Ankara. This is confirmed by satellite images taken on August 29 and published on September 3 on the Twitter page of the Israeli company ISI.

The accompanying commentary on the images asserts that the radars of the S-400 complexes are operational, even though the launch stations are still not armed. According to the organization, Turkish military personnel are testing the S-400 missile defense systems before their full deployment.

It's worth noting that Turkey's acquisition of Russian air defense systems has triggered an international scandal within NATO. The United States has demanded that Turkey abandon the purchase in favor of American Patriot systems, threatening consequences should they refuse.

The first reports about negotiations between the Russian Federation and Turkey regarding the S-400 systems emerged in November 2016, while the sale contract was signed in September 2017, with the total cost for four purchased missile defense units amounting to $2.5 billion.
