Thieves Demanded Money from Car Owners via Telegram for Stolen Parts
In the early morning hours of October 13, at 4:40 AM, patrol officers from the 3rd battalion of the police in Yerevan noticed two young men on Hunan Avetisyan Street. One of them, upon seeing the patrol officers, attempted to hide something in his bag. The young men were arrested and taken to the Nor Nork Division of the Community Police.
The police informed that as a result of operational and investigative measures, community police officers in Nor Nork discovered that a 16-year-old resident of Yerevan and a 23-year-old resident of Norabats village in the Ararat region had stolen from approximately 40 parked vehicles across different parts of the capital, and then left addresses of Telegram channels on the cars to demand money from the car owners for the location of the stolen parts.
During a personal search, 15 papers with the addresses of the Telegram channels were found on one of the youths. A criminal case has been initiated.
