The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that the police have submitted a report regarding the crime to the Investigative Committee. This was reported by 'Armenian Time'. A recording of a conversation between Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan and Aghan Yerjnakyan, a former staff member of Catholicos Garegin II, from October 2023 has surfaced online.

Previously, it was reported that the Mother See had reacted, stating: 'In the context of operations unleashed against the church by the authorities, including the recent detentions of dozens of clergymen and the arrest of two ecclesiastical figures, it is already evident who is behind this latest act.'
