Pentagon Chief Wears Tie in Colors of Russian Flag at Meeting with Zelensky
The Secretary of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, wore a tie in white, blue, and red while meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The combination of white, blue, and red is referred to as a tricolor and is used in the flags of Russia, France, the United Kingdom, and the USA, as well as many other countries. Russian media and Telegram channels have noted that the arrangement of the colors of the Pentagon chief's tie resembles that of the Russian flag.
This meeting between Zelensky and Trump in Washington was the third one since 2025. The day before, Trump had a lengthy phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, after which both sides agreed to meet in Budapest.
Earlier, Hegseth presented a framework for supplying weapons to Ukraine.
