Neither Russia Nor Ukraine Are Ready to Sign a Peace Agreement, Says Pence

U.S. Vice President James David Pence stated in an interview with Newsmax that Russia and Ukraine are still not ready to sign a peace agreement. He noted that even President Donald Trump's "energetic diplomacy" has not been able to reconcile the parties, who are unwilling to commit to a peace accord.

“Ultimately, there have to be two sides willing to come to an agreement. And right now, despite all of our efforts—and we will continue to do that—the Russians and Ukrainians have simply not reached the point where they can come to an agreement,” the Vice President said.

However, Pence emphasized that there remains a possibility for resolving the conflict, and that there has been "some progress" in that direction over recent months.
