Putin Discusses the Foundations of Russia's Sovereignty
During a meeting with government members, Russian President Vladimir Putin elaborated on what underpins the sovereignty of the country. TASS reports.
"This has always been a key topic, but nevertheless, recently we have been increasingly discussing Russia’s sovereignty and its reinforcement as a vital factor for our state’s self-preservation and the territorial integrity of the country," said the head of state.
According to him, the foundation of the sovereignty of the Russian Federation is "self-sufficiency" in all key areas, including the economy and defense. As Putin noted, in the fields of education and culture, a "request for that self-sufficiency and sovereignty" is being formed. He emphasized that these two areas are "inextricably linked to the traditions of the peoples" and the history of Russia.
"The most important factor is, of course, the field of education," the Russian leader stated.
