Tigran Barseghyan May End Career with Armenian National Team

The captain of the Armenian national team, Tigran Barseghyan, may leave the national squad following the match against Ireland. This was reported by the Telegram channel «ИнсайдЯН», citing its own sources.

“The decision is not yet final, but it is likely. Tigran has already announced this after the game. Perhaps it was said based on emotions, time will tell. Barseghyan had also been considering ending his career with the national team even before the qualifying round, but he stayed on after the arrival of Yegishe Melikyan,” the channel mentions.

It was also noted that Lukas Selarayan may end his career with the national team in the near future.

As a reminder, during the fourth round of the World Cup 2026 qualifying phase against Ireland, Tigran Barseghyan was sent off for hitting an opponent. The Armenian national team was left with 10 men and subsequently conceded a goal, losing with a minimum score of 0:1.
