Karekin II Meets with Clergy of Aragatsotn Diocese

On October 16, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, met with the clergy of the Aragatsotn Diocese, offering his blessings and encouragement to the priests who were taken in by law enforcement on October 15. It is noteworthy that Father Aram had stated on public air that he participated in opposition rallies on instructions from his superior, who is the nephew of Karekin II, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan of the Aragatsotn Diocese. Based on this statement, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia under the article regarding obstructing or coercing the holding or participation in a rally.

Furthermore, Bishop Mkrtich was arrested for two months, with the court also restricting visits from other individuals, except for close relatives, namely his mother.
