Catholicos Aram I Simply Wants to Protect the Church from New Attacks, Narek Karapetyan

Narek Karapetyan, the coordinator of the "Our Way" movement, writes: "The Church has often sent ambassadors to the Persian Shah to create opportunities for negotiations regarding the status and rights of the Armenian people. Catholicos Aram I informed me in a conversation that he will be negotiating with Pashinyan to address the pressures unleashed against the Armenian Church. Therefore, I ask that the meeting that took place today not be interpreted in another way. Catholicos Aram simply wants to protect the Church from new attacks. I am confident that these attempts will unfortunately be unsuccessful. These individuals have an agenda and will continue until the Armenian people have their say."
