This is systematic pressure against the Armenian Church: statement

The Armenian Church Preservation All-Armenian Council has issued a statement regarding the arrests of clergy members. "The Armenian Church Preservation All-Armenian Council strongly condemns today’s actions of the state bodies aimed at clergymen. Father Paren Khachikyan, the spiritual leader of the Sahmossal Sanctuary, has been arrested, and the house of His Eminence Bishop Mkrtich of the Aragatsotn Diocese has been searched, while he has been taken to the investigative body.

This is systematic pressure against the Armenian Church. We demand that law enforcement agencies perform their duties honestly—not serving political or personal orders, but adhering to the law, their conscience, and public accountability. Let every investigator, police officer, and official remember: their job is to protect justice, not to become an instrument of violence in the hands of an unbalanced individual or group," the statement reads.
