The Number of Refugees Has Doubled: UN

As of the end of April 2025, the number of displaced persons has increased by 2 million compared to the previous year. The rise in the refugee population is attributed to escalating conflicts in Sudan, Myanmar, and Ukraine. This was reported by the UN.

Despite the nearly doubled rate of displaced persons over the last decade, the funding levels for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees have remained nearly unchanged since 2015.
