The Number of Clergy Has Increased, Lawyer Says

The number of detained clergy in the Aragatsotn Diocese has increased. This was reported by lawyer Marine Farmanian during a conversation with journalists outside the RA Investigative Committee.

She noted that there are currently six clergy members at the Investigative Committee who, according to her preliminary information, have the status of witnesses. Additionally, Father Hambardzum Kahan Danielyan is also being taken to the Investigative Committee.

"There is no information yet regarding two other priests, Father Narek Kahan Sargsyan and Sargis Sargsyan. They have been taken into custody, and it is unknown where they have been transferred. They may be brought to the Investigative Committee, but there is currently no data on that," the lawyer stated.

Farmanian emphasized that the whereabouts of the leader of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, are still unknown.
