If the Snow Continues for 4-5 Days, the Salt Supplies for Roads Will Run Out

During a working meeting at the Yerevan City Hall, the director of the "Yerevan Waste Management and Sanitary Cleaning" facility, Hovhannes Manukyan, reported that salt trucks have been operating overnight in Yerevan, and the central streets are completely cleared. The road clearing operations are still ongoing in the secondary streets.

Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan inquired about the sufficiency of the salt and sand reserves. In response, Hovhannes Manukyan stated: “This morning, the supply finished both in Jrvash and on the Tbilisi Highway; now only the reserves at our facility are left. This will last for a few days, but if the snow continues for 4-5 days, it will not be enough.”

The meeting also presented information from the “Hydromet” service indicating that the snow in Yerevan will persist through the morning but will cease in the afternoon. Weather without precipitation is expected on March 22-23 and during the day on the 25th and 26th. Precipitation in the form of snow and wet snow is anticipated during the nights and evenings of March 23rd and 25th, as well as intermittently on the 24th. The highest temperature will be recorded on the afternoon of March 26th, reaching +4 to +6 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature will be recorded at 0 to 2 degrees Celsius during the same day.
