Ronaldo Surpasses Guatemalan Carlos Ruiz's Record
The captain of the Portuguese national team and 40-year-old forward for Saudi club Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo, has become the all-time leading scorer in World Cup qualifying matches.
In the qualifying match against Hungary, which ended in a 2-2 draw, Ronaldo scored his 40th and 41st goals in World Cup qualifiers, surpassing the previous record held by Guatemalan Carlos Ruiz, who netted 39 goals.
