Prosecutor's Office on the Arrest of Clergymen

The investigation into the case of obstructing or coercing the holding of gatherings or participation in them, as well as materially inducing participation or refusal to participate in the gathering, by using governmental or official authority or influence, is ongoing. Procedural and evidential actions are being carried out within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings. A statement will be issued later. It should be noted that Father Paren Khahanakelyan, the spiritual leader of Sahmosa Vank, has been arrested and taken to the serious crimes division. Currently, priests Father Paren, Father Manuk, Father Hayk, Father Mkrtich, and Father Ghévond are present at the Investigative Committee of Yerevan. A total of six clergymen have been arrested so far.
