Trump Discusses Possibility of Halting Trade with China
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he is considering halting trade with China in several sectors in response to what he termed Beijing's "hostile economic actions" against American farmers.
"I believe that China's refusal to buy our soybeans and the difficulties created for American farmers is a manifestation of economic hostility. We are discussing stopping trade in vegetable oils and other products with China as a countermeasure," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
He asserted that the U.S. is capable of "producing its own vegetable oil" and does not need to purchase it from China.
