Temporary Ban on Exporting Grain and Sunflower Oil from Armenia

From January 4, 2025, until July 4, 2025, a temporary ban will be imposed on the export of various agricultural products, including wheat, meslin, barley, corn, buckwheat, sunflower seeds, and sunflower oil from Armenia to countries that are not members of the EAEU.

According to the decision, "the domestic production of these products does not meet the demand of the Armenian market, which is mainly covered by import volumes. The decision aims to ensure food security and stabilize the economy of Armenia," it stated.

It is also noted that the imposed ban will not apply to products imported into Armenia and subsequently exported from Armenia under the customs procedure of 'Re-Export'.
