Transferred Material Taken from the Detained Person's Hands: Mikael's Legal Team

The Court of Appeals has recorded a violation of Mikael's right to legal defense by the penitentiary system. This was reported by the legal team.

“A disreputable practice is common in correctional facilities. Employees of the penitentiary examine (search through) documents transferred to their detained clients by lawyers. Moreover, if the transferred material is deemed by the penitentiary employees to not be directly related to the criminal case, they take it away from the detained person,” the statement said.

It is emphasized that the Court of Appeals' decision is a significant judicial act aimed at eliminating this disreputable practice.
