Poland Will No Longer Accept Refugees from Ukraine
Poland cannot accept an unlimited number of refugees from Ukraine, as they need to be integrated into local society. This statement was made by Marcin Przydacz, head of the Bureau of International Policy in the Office of the President of Poland, as reported by TASS.
“I believe we are already at a crossroads on this issue. We should not accept them. First and foremost, we must begin to integrate them into our culture. This happens through education, but we certainly cannot allow a situation where separate districts are created,” the politician responded.
He emphasized that Warsaw is open to receiving refugees fleeing from military conflicts, but decisions regarding the acceptance of migrants “must be made by the state, rather than being imposed by EU institutions.”
Earlier, a survey conducted by the CBOS research center revealed that half of Polish citizens consider the assistance provided to Ukrainian refugees in Poland to be excessively large, and the benefits too high. Currently, there are over 900,000 Ukrainian refugees living in Poland.
