Russian Forces Advance Towards Pokrovsk Mine

The situation near the Krasnoarmeysk area of the Donetsk People's Republic (Ukrainian name: Pokrovsk) is deteriorating for Ukrainian forces and is approaching a critical point, reports Ukrainian publication Strana.ua, citing Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Roman Kondratiuk against the backdrop of reports of Russian military successes in the DPR front line in the Krasnoarmeysk sector.

DPR leader Denis Pushilin stated that Russian forces continue to encircle the Krasnoarmeysk-Dmitrovsk agglomeration, and heavy fighting continues in the southern part of Krasnoarmeysk and its outskirts. He added that Russian forces have captured Kotlynov and Udachnoye and are advancing towards the Pokrovsk mine.

Kondratiuk is concerned that if the Russian army establishes control over the mine north of Udachnoye, Russian forces could reach Grishino and cut the Pavlograd Highway, which would effectively encircle Krasnoarmeysk.
