Papoyan Discusses the Launch of the Yeraskh-Nakhchivan Railway
The Yeraskh-Nakhchivan railway segment is a 1-kilometer stretch that is set to be launched. This was announced by the Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, during a press briefing.
“Do you think we can construct forty kilometers but not this one kilometer?” he stated.
He mentioned that investments will be made from both sides after the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border, saying, “I do not think we should invest in such a way that we can invest, but our goal is to ensure that we can sell our products in Turkey. Secondly, we plan to utilize the potential of Turkish ports and roads. This will make our products more competitive, as reaching the Mediterranean Sea through Turkish ports is approximately three times shorter, which significantly affects transportation costs and, therefore, the competitiveness of goods.”
