In Turkey, There is a Village Where Everyone Shares the Same Surname

In Hatay province of Turkey, there is a settlement named Gyozene, considered one of the country's most fascinating and unique places. The uniqueness lies in the fact that this settlement, home to 2000 people, shares the same surname: "Dadyuk." This translates to "sweet".

This information is reported by ermenihaber.am. It is noted that although different families have formed over the years, the surname has remained unchanged. There have been many confusions in the past, but after the introduction of identification numbers for passports, the issue has been resolved. Furthermore, it is mentioned that all tombstones in the village's cemetery also bear the same surname.

The community leader, Yusuf Dadyuk, points out that although the village is called Gyozene, everyone refers to it as Dadyuk, and the residents of nearby neighborhoods call the locals "Dadyuklers." He states, "Since there are 8 clans in the village and we know their origins, it is not a problem for us to recognize each other, especially when we know who’s father is who. Questions are usually asked by teachers or those coming from outside. They are surprised when they first arrive, but they get used to it afterwards."
