Lukashenko Identifies Who Truly Hinders Peace Negotiations in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must make decisions regarding peace negotiations as quickly as possible to prevent the threat of state dissolution. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko during an interview with Russian journalists at the CIS summit in Tajikistan, according to Belta.

The journalists inquired when the Ukrainian leadership would realize that negotiations are better than war. Lukashenko mentioned that he used to blame European leaders, but now, in his view, it's important to consider Volodymyr Zelensky's position as well.

“Recently, we have been receiving a lot of information that the issue is not the USA, which really wants progress in the peace process, nor Russia, which is ready to move forward, nor European leaders, but rather Volodymyr Aleksandrovich Zelensky. I believe he understands everything,” Lukashenko said.

At the same time, he drew attention to Zelensky's stance. “What will happen to him if he suddenly makes these moves, as he understands? I think Volodymyr Aleksandrovich is inclined to exert strong pressure on himself. It is under that pressure that appropriate decisions will be made,” he noted.

According to the Belarusian president, these decisions must be made urgently to ensure that Ukraine does not “disappear as a state.” “Action must be taken urgently. Russia is advancing on the front. I say this responsibly, as I follow it closely every day. And this can lead to Ukraine's disappearance as a state,” Lukashenko declared.

Additionally, he added that Ukraine's western neighbors have their interests in this conflict. “Look at these reckless neighbors, primarily from Western Ukraine. The well-known forces and states already see themselves in Western Ukraine. They are already ready to seize part of Ukraine, just as it was before the Great Patriotic War. You understand what this is about. There is a very serious mess there,” he said.

“I want to say again that the president of Ukraine should listen to my proposals and understand that no one will bring him happiness in Ukraine, except for the Slavic states. Therefore, it is necessary to sit down and agree,” Lukashenko concluded.
