The ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian Hamas movement and Israel has been in effect for two days. As part of the arrangements, the Israeli military has begun to withdraw its forces from Palestinian towns while maintaining its presence in certain key areas of the semi-blockaded territory. Thousands of displaced Palestinians have started to return to their homes in the Gaza Strip following the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Without Hamas: The key player in the conflict will not be present at the summit in Sharm El Sheikh. The Palestinian movement will not participate in the summit aimed at halting the war in the Gaza Strip, according to reports from France Press. Movement participants stated that they had previously engaged in the negotiation process through “Qatari and Egyptian” mediators. Hussein Badran, a member of the movement's political bureau, confirmed to AFP that Hamas made the decision to withdraw from the 'Peace Summit’ scheduled to take place in Egypt. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has yet to confirm his attendance at the summit.

The U.S. President is set to deliver a speech in the Knesset tomorrow and will also attend a ceremony in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, to sign the ceasefire agreement concerning Gaza. This follows the work schedule released by the White House press office.

The President of Turkey will also be in Egypt tomorrow to participate in an international summit focused on the situation in Gaza.

Israel is preparing to clear Hamas tunnels. The Israeli military and international forces are set to eradicate the remaining Hamas tunnels in Gaza after the release of hostages, as announced by Defense Minister Katz. Hamas has begun to reestablish control over the Gaza Strip just hours after reaching an agreement with Israel on a ceasefire, reports the Financial Times, citing local residents.

The armed group is rapidly advancing through the Gaza Strip to regain its control and take revenge, the report states. The article's authors argue that Palestinian movement leaders have set up checkpoints within the enclave and are searching for individuals suspected of collaborating with Israel.

The U.S. President’s envoy for the Middle East, Steve Whitcomb, has visited the Gaza Strip to monitor compliance with the ceasefire agreement. He posted about this on X. The politician was accompanied by the commander of the U.S. Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, and the President’s son-in-law, businessman Jared Kushner. “We received detailed information about security, humanitarian assistance, and conflict prevention efforts,” the special envoy wrote.
