Convoy of Trucks Enters Gaza
A convoy of trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip from Khan Yunis on Sunday, following reports that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas group is being upheld, according to Reuters.
Under the ceasefire agreement, humanitarian aid will be delivered to Gaza in increased volumes, allowing for its free movement between the northern and southern parts of the enclave via two main routes.
Israeli forces have retreated in accordance with the first phase of a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States. The war has led to tens of thousands of casualties and has turned much of the enclave into ruins.
U.S. President Donald Trump will join an international summit in Egypt with leaders from more than 20 countries aimed at coordinating the conditions for a permanent peace agreement. The summit will take place in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh.
Hamas is expected to release the remaining Israeli hostages at noon, in compliance with the ceasefire terms. Hundreds of trucks carrying food and medical supplies will arrive in Gaza daily.
