Thousands of Displaced Palestinians Return to Gaza

Thousands of displaced Palestinians are returning to their abandoned homes in Gaza following a ceasefire that came into effect today at noon between Israel and Hamas. It is anticipated that the blockade of Gaza will be lifted in the coming hours, allowing the thousands of people who have taken refuge in tents to receive medical assistance and food after a prolonged pause.

Earlier reports indicated that the Israel Defense Forces had begun to gradually withdraw troops from the Gaza Strip to agreed-upon borders as part of an arrangement with Hamas.
