Every day, over a million people breathe this air: Marukyan

Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia party, has made a statement regarding the fire that broke out at the Nubarashen landfill.

“We see how the already polluted air of Yerevan is poisoned even more with toxic gases from burning waste. This air is breathed by over a million people daily in Yerevan and nearby communities. A logical question arises: why is even such a basic problem left unsolved in Armenia? The answer, unfortunately, is simple: Armenia is not being governed, and our officials can be conditionally divided into three groups:

1. Those who do not know and do not want to know how to solve the problems facing the country.
2. Those who know how to work so that problems are solved, but avoid taking responsibility.
3. And those who do not understand the scale of the problems and the ways to solve them, yet make decisions with confident faces.

This is the reality that has emerged as a result of the 2021 elections, and we all have to endure its consequences every day. The ball is in the court of the people—that is, each of us. We must decide whether we want to continue living in a disorganized and dangerous environment, breathing foul and dusty air, participating in festivals, or whether we want to change this situation.”
