The War in Gaza Has Ended Permanently, Says Hamas Official
The head of the Hamas negotiation team, Khalil al-Hayya, has announced that they have received guarantees from the United States and intermediary states regarding the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, according to Al Jazeera.
“We have received assurances from the U.S. and brotherly intermediaries, confirming that the war has completely ended,” said Khalil al-Hayya.
He added that under the agreement, 250 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment in Israeli jails will be released, along with 1,700 Palestinians detained in Gaza since the onset of the war, including all women and children detained by Israel.
According to the official, the agreement marks the end of the war in Gaza. The initial phase of the agreement includes the exchange of prisoners and the withdrawal of the Israeli army from certain areas of Gaza.
