Pashinyan Equates the Return of Artsakh Residents with Returning to 'Western Azerbaijan': Tatoyan
The crimes committed against us as a result of Azerbaijani policies, due to the gross mistakes of the current government, will never be forgotten, stated Arman Tatoyan, the head of the 'Wings of Unity' initiative, during a press conference.
He added that at this moment they are not discussing the return of the Artsakh residents, but cited the norms of international law. 'We have over 120,000 compatriots who have been displaced from their homeland. They have the right to return to their homeland. This is not something I made up; it is an established, existing international principle. In particular, the International Court of Justice, in a ruling on November 17, 2023, explicitly recognized the right of Artsakh residents to return. It specifically mentioned principles such as safe, voluntary, and sustainable return.'
Tatoyan criticized Pashinyan's approach, stating that the Prime Minister has effectively equated the return of Artsakh residents with the return to 'Western Azerbaijan'.
