Change in Detention Measure for MP David Galstyan

The judge Karen Farakhoyan has changed the detention measure for David Galstyan, a member of the National Assembly from Artsakh, establishing house arrest and bail.

It is noteworthy that Galstyan is involved in the case concerning Bishop Bagrat and others. According to the indictment, Bagrat has been charged with failing to carry out the aims of the movement named 'Sacred Struggle' which he initiated and led for several months through means permitted by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, and as of November 2024, he intended to achieve this goal through methods not allowed by the Constitution.

To realize this aim, a number of participants in the movement, including Movses Sharbatyan, Hayk Shahnazaryan, Tigran Topalyan, Lidia Mantashyan, Hrayr Hakobyan, Karo Okumushyan, Arthur Sargsyan, Igor Sargsyan, Ara Rostomyan, Arsen Ghazaryan, Arman Israelian, Aghvan Arshakyan, Armen Aleksanyan, Mihran Maksudyan, David Galstyan, and others, were allegedly involved in acquiring the means and tools necessary for committing terrorism and seizing power, as well as intentionally creating other conditions to prepare for the usurpation of power.
