Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the search for alternatives to the US dollar, emphasizing that this is not a fight against the currency itself. He made these remarks during an extended session of BRICS leaders in Kazan, as reported by TASS.

The Russian leader pointed out that the dollar is used as a weapon to achieve political goals. "We are not abandoning it, we are not fighting against the dollar, but if we are not allowed to work with it, what should we do? We are forced to seek alternatives, which is what we are doing," Putin stated.
