U.S. President Donald Trump believes that the upcoming indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Egypt over the next 48 hours will be critical for the prospects of resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip, according to Fox News.

“Reports indicate that President Trump told former American hostage Idan Alexandri and his family during a meeting at the White House that the next 48 hours of negotiations are crucial,” said the network's correspondent.

It is also noted that Trump instructed his American negotiators, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to reach an agreement between the parties involved in the conflict before heading to Egypt.
