Resignation After Affair Revelations: Ruben Rubinyan

Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan expressed his surprise on Facebook regarding the resignation of the bishop of the district of Juli, Peru, Siro Kispé López, following revelations about his affairs. He stated, “I read that Bishop Siro Kispé López of Juli, Peru has resigned after it was discovered that he has mistresses. I am very surprised. What was the need for such an act? It should have been stated that this is an internal matter of the Catholic Church and demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister of Peru. Alternatively, he could have instructed his subordinates to initiate an opposition movement. Or plan mass unrest. Or, ultimately, call for a violent coup. These Peruvians obviously know nothing about theology.”
