Kocharian on the Initiative to Unseat Pashinyan
Robert Kocharian has addressed the Republican Party's initiative to express no confidence in the Prime Minister.
“Our faction has made a relevant statement, but nothing has changed since then. The grounds for impeachment are more than present; it's just that there are not enough votes,” he said.
Kocharian has no information on whether the initiators have the necessary votes: “We declared from the beginning that those votes are not available; we have 28 votes, and we are providing those. If you have information, let me know, and say there are 10 votes that need to be added, and so on. I don’t have that information. Therefore, there is nothing to add. We are waiting,” he stated.
Speaking about the timing of the process, he said, “What is a reasonable timeframe? If they are to continue discussing impeachment in February, I will consider it unserious because active electoral processes will begin two months later. For me, a reasonable timeframe is by the end of this year.”
