The US-Iran Conflict Puts Countries Around the World in a Dilemma: "Hraparak"

The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "Since the assassination of Iranian Quds Force General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad, the situation has become extremely tense not only in the region but also worldwide. Dozens of countries are silently dividing into factions, bracing for a major clash, each trying to view their interests amid this context. Of course, there are also neutral countries; some do not see any problem related to global changes affecting their territory and internal affairs, hence remain indifferent, while others maintain partnerships and diverse interests with both warring factions, the US and Iran.

The situation is very dangerous, and we agree with the analysts who argue that today the US is closer to war with Iran than it has been in the past 40 years. This was also mentioned by former US Secretary of Defense and CIA Director Leon Panetta.

Only Israel and the United Kingdom have unequivocally supported the US in its anti-Iranian policies, promising to assist in the war against Iran. However, when the US president threatened to strike 52 targets of great cultural significance to Iran (the number 52 symbolizes the 52 Americans taken hostage by Iran years ago), official London refused to support this action.

It is worth mentioning that similar strikes have already been carried out against Iraq and Syria. The EU is not supporting the US either; the US Secretary of State has criticized Europeans for not providing sufficient backing for the operation to assassinate Qassem Soleimani. Today, the EU also disagrees with imposing sanctions against Iran, let alone going to war. EU-US contradictions began even before Turkey's incursion into Syrian territory," the newspaper states.
