In 8 Months, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Collected Approximately 12.5 Billion AMD from Citizens for Violations

During the first eight months of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia generated revenues of approximately 12.5 billion AMD from penalties applied for violations, exceeding last year's January-August figures by 10.1% (1.1 billion AMD). This information was reported by NEWS.am, which analyzed the summary report on the execution of the state budget for August.

It is noteworthy that this amount primarily pertains to fines collected for violations of traffic regulations. Overall, during the first eight months of this year, revenues from penalties imposed by executive and judicial bodies exceeded the planned figure for nine months by 13.4% (2.2 billion AMD) and surpassed the same period last year by 9.1% (1.5 billion AMD).

According to the Ministry of Finance, the surplus in the plan is notably due to fines collected by the Competition Protection Commission, which amounted to over 1 billion AMD, exceeding the same period last year by 4.2% (41 million AMD).

In the accountable period, high revenue levels were also recorded from the penalties imposed by the Ministry of Justice, amounting to 1.4 billion AMD, which exceeded both the planned figure by 97.8% (693.8 million AMD) and the actual figures for the same January-August months of the previous year by 95% (683.4 million AMD), attributed to an increase in fines imposed by the probation service.

The high revenue figures are also linked to the security fees from participants in cases provided for by the Law on Public Procurement, which totaled 671.5 million AMD against the planned 11.3 million AMD for nine months and last year's figure of 15.1 million AMD for the same January-August period.

Furthermore, revenues secured by inspection bodies amounted to 964.3 million AMD, exceeding the planned figure for nine months by 41.5% and the same period last year by 30.2% (223.7 million AMD).
