Putin on Relations with Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the plenary session of the annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, stated that he and his American counterpart Donald Trump have their own relationship.

The Russian leader also mentioned that they know what to give each other. “We approach this very calmly,” he added.

Furthermore, Putin declared that Russia is interested in restoring relations with the United States. According to him, under Trump’s leadership, the United States primarily acts based on its own interests, and this is rational. Russia does the same, the president noted.

He emphasized that it is easier to find common ground with other countries if one “sacrifices their ambitions.” Putin cited the United States as an example.
