Artsakh Authorities Accept Russian Peacekeepers' Proposal for Ceasefire

The Information Department of the Artsakh Presidential Administration has released a statement regarding the current situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. "Since September 19, the Republic of Azerbaijan has launched a large-scale attack along the entire line of contact with the Republic of Artsakh, accompanied by heavy artillery and airstrikes. Analysis of the actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces indicates that their objective is to dismember Artsakh and inflict irreversible damage on its viability. Throughout two days of fierce battles, the Armed Forces of Artsakh have heroically defended against an enemy that vastly outnumbers them in personnel and military equipment, inflicting significant losses on them. Unfortunately, there are also losses and injuries on the Artsakh side, and in certain areas, the enemy has managed to penetrate the positions of the Defense Army, taking control of several heights and strategic transportation hubs. The actions of the international community in this situation are insufficient regarding the cessation of hostilities and the resolution of the situation. Taking all this into account, the authorities of the Republic of Artsakh accept the proposal from the command of the Russian peacekeeping mission regarding a ceasefire," the statement said.

▪️ An agreement has been reached regarding the withdrawal and complete disarmament of servicemen from the zone of deployment of the Russian peacekeeping forces (referring to Artsakh, although the name Artsakh is not mentioned in the text - ed.). The Artsakh Information Headquarters reports this based on a text agreed with Baku.

▪️ Issues concerning the reintegration and rights of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh will be discussed on September 21 at a meeting between representatives of the local Armenian community and Azerbaijani authorities in Yevlakh.

▪️ A complete cessation of military operations has been agreed upon at 13:00, facilitated by Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
