Agreement on Strategic Partnership between Russia and Iran Comes into Force

The comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Russia and Iran officially came into force on October 2, announced the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"As of October 2, the agreement on comprehensive strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran, signed by President Vladimir Putin and President Masoud Pezeshkian in Moscow on January 17, 2025, is officially in effect," the statement published on the Ministry's website reads.

The Ministry added that this event marks an important milestone in the history of Russian-Iranian intergovernmental relations, which have reached a qualitatively new level of comprehensive strategic partnership.
